Fernando Torres is a bogeyman of sorts for Barcelona and the Atlético Madrid striker will look to continue his sterling record against the 'Azulgranas' this Saturday at the Calderón.
In fact, the Catalans are the striker's favourite foes in statistical terms, as the 31-year-old boasts nine goals in 13 meetings against them in all competitions for Atlético and Chelsea.
Torres's most recent strike against Barça came in last season's Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg in Madrid. However, despite giving his side the lead in the opening minute, the goal was not enough to prevent Atleti being knocked out of the competition.
It remains to be seen whether Torres will be taking aim at Marc-André ter Stegen and co. from the starting line-up or the bench. Diego Simeone started Jackson Martínez in Atlético's La Liga curtain-raiser, at home to Las Palmas, but Torres got the nod from the off in the 3-0 win over Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán.
